13 months old

Dear James,

You are 13 months old and a busy boy! I can't believe it has already been a month since your 1st birthday. You are now walking/running all over the place and discovered that you LOVE to climb. Mommy was putting dishes in the dishwasher, turned around, and you were standing on top of the kitchen table! You had pulled out a chair, climbed onto it, then managed to climb onto the kitchen table and stand up. You scared Mommy but were so proud of yourself! I know we have many adventures ahead of us.

So James Peyton, what else are you up to at 13 months old???

You are 32 1/2 inches tall and weigh 24 lbs

You still only have 4 teeth but I can see the white of number 5 trying to come through

You wear a size 4 diaper

You wear size 18 month clothes but a few size 12 month shorts still fit

You wear a size 5 shoe but we will soon have to buy size 6. Your feet are growing fast!

You now only take one nap in the middle of the day but it is a long one, usually 2 or 2 1/2 hours

Your favorite food right now is fruit. Mommy buys a lot of fruit each week. You love apples, strawberries, blueberries, watermelon, honeydew melon, cantelope, peaches, and grapes.

You "talk" a lot but words we understand are Dada, Mama, water, outside, What's that?, hello, and bye bye

You love to imitate Chloe and Coco barking. You pucker your lips and say "oof, oof". It is so cute!

You wave when people are coming or going. We always stand outside and wave bye bye to Daddy every morning when he goes to work. You also blow kisses!

You are so sweet and love to snuggle. You still give open mouth slobbery kisses on our cheeks but they are the best!

You LOVE to be outside and it is getting hot so we are excited for you to start swimming lessons next week and go to the pool!

You love the water and bathtime so I am hoping you love the pool just as much.

We love you so much and can't wait to see what June has in store for us!

Love,
Mommy

Simon & Ellie

We have been so busy lately I haven't had time to post pictures and write about all that has been going on. A couple of weeks ago we went to Waco to see Simon and Ellie's baseball & softball games. They were playing at the exact same time on fields next to each other so we were literally running back and forth to watch them. Both of their teams won and Simon was the pitcher for his team! It was so fun, I can't wait until James starts playing sports.

Happy Mother's Day

Four Generations
I had a great Mother's Day! I slept late (which is a rare treat) and enjoyed breakfast in bed, cards, and flowers from my two favorite boys. We spent most of the day at home then headed to Fort Worth to meet Grandma-ma, Papa, and Great-Grandmom for an early dinner at Joe T's. Unfortunately it was a little rainy and too cool to sit on the patio but we still enjoyed a pitcher of margaritas and yummy mexican food. I feel so blessed to have my sweet son and an amazing mom! I LOVE being a mom and although it is the hardest job in the world, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Welcome Hudson Knox LaVoy

Welcome Hudson Knox LaVoy! On Friday James and I went to visit my friend Blaire, her daughter Harper, and new baby boy Hudson. I forget just how tiny babies are when they first arrive. It is incredible how much they grow in just one year. Congratulations Blaire, Matt, and Harper!

1 year appointment

We went to James' 12 month appointment at Dr. Smith's office today. She said he is a beautiful, healthy, active toddler! I cannot believe he is not a baby anymore. Dr. Smith also said he is "verbally advanced" for his age and could not believe all of the fruits and veggies that he eats. He is a wonderful eater! Unfortunately JP had to get four shots (vaccines) but was such a trooper. It breaks my heart every time but I know they are necessary. He cried for a few seconds then stopped as soon as I was able to pick him up. He even smiled and waved "bye bye" to the nurses when they left the room after giving him the shots. Below are James' official stats. If he continues the growth pattern he has had this first year then he is going to be a very tall boy!

Length: 32 1/2 inches (97th percentile)
Weight: 23 pounds 7 ounces (50th percentile)
Head: 19 inches (95th percentile)

We had such a wonderful weekend and 1st Birthday Party for James. I would not have been able to pull it off without the help of our amazing family. Thank you Mom, Papa, Janie, John, Sandra, and Lea! Words cannot express how much I appreciate everything that you all did.
