We had the best New Years Eve! Our anniversary is on January 7th so we don't like going out on New Years Eve. We would much rather stay home with the boys or spend it at a friend's house. That is just what we did! We went over to the Rose's house with our other good friends The Finnells. Our kids have been in playgroup together and friends since they were just two months old. They have been in class at Brookhaven together since James started and now will all be turning 3 this year, except Michael of course. The Roses' cooked a yummy dinner and the kids had so much fun playing and running around the house. Michael went to sleep first in a pack-n-play in the guest room then we finally got all of the other three kids to go to bed! When I say finally, two of them were not a problem at all. You will never guess who wanted to stay up late? Sean and I are both night owls and I think James is too! After the kids went to bed we hung out, drank wine, talked, laughed, and watched the Coldplay concert. I love these girls and it is so fun that our husbands are all friends too. I only took a few pictures with my phone.

Self-portrait in the car.
Sean now knows if he smiles the first time I won't take the picture over and over again! :) |

Not the best picture but the only one I have of the kids.
They were hanging out watching Bubble Guppies
(the songs get stuck in my head all the time!) |

Since it is New Year's Day, I have been thinking about a few resolutions and things I want to focus on. In the past I have talked about resolutions but this is the first time I am actually writing them down. Here they are but in to particular order:
1. I want to cook more for my family.
2. Be present when I am with the boys (meaning don't be checking my email or responding to a text on my phone)
3. Start working out regulary-yoga, running, a class at the gym, anything! I don't want to say 4-5 times a week because that is unrealistic with my schedule but even twice a week would be an improvement.
4. Officially join our church and get involved (if we can finally agree on which one, we have been going to two different churches this past year off and on for different reasons. We actually really like both but I definitely feel more "at home" at one of them.)
5. Update the blog more frequently. I love writing but feel like I am always behind on posts!
6. And finally, GET.MORE.SLEEP. I average about 6 hours a night right now, and I feel better when I sleep 8 hours. Both boys are sleeping well but I stay up late trying to get things done around the house or on the computer!
I am excited about 2012. I think it will be fun to look back at my resolutions at the end of the year and see which ones I have kept. I haven't written about Christmas yet or our trip to San Antonio the week before but will be catching up soon. We have a lot going on these next couple of weeks-back to school/work, family in town, and our baby boy is turning ONE!!!
I hope everyone has a Happy and Healthy New Year!!!
