Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving lunch at the club today. Grandma-ma and Papa came over from Fort Worth and Nanie, Simon, and Ellie were all visiting from San Antonio and Waco. We decided it should be our new tradition! We went to the 11:00 a.m. seating so the boys wouldn't be eating during their nap time. It was perfect and the food was excellent! The kids played on the golf course afterwards and Sean took them on a ride in the golf cart. We rarely have a picture of the four of us together and even though this was taken with my phone, it is a good one! Happy Thanksgiving!

22 monts old

Dear Michael,
You are 22 months old today! You have had a bad cold this past week but you are still your happy little self. This week is Thanksgiving and Simon, Ellie, and Nanie are all coming to the house. We are going to the club for Thanksgiving lunch. Grandma-ma is coming over to visit on Tuesday. Two weeks ago we met Grandma-ma for lunch at Chili’s. You were a little restless the last ten minutes or so and were playing with a car on the seat of the booth while standing under the table. Grandma-ma and I thought we had you blocked in by our legs but after a few minutes we looked down and you were gone! Of course we both jumped up and started looking for you. I gave James my phone to play with and Grandma-ma told him to stay there while we looked for you. I told the hostess what you were wearing and she immediately told all the waiters to start looking for you. After the longest two minutes of my life, Grandma-ma found you hiding under the table next to us! You popped your head out from under the table, smiled at me with those big dimples, and said, “More chicken?” You loved the chicken you were eating for lunch that day. Michael, you definitely keep mommy on her toes! I have never been so relieved! (except maybe the one time your brother decided to play hide and seek at Target when he was about your age!)
The picture above is from a mini photo session we had with Miss Sabrina at the Dallas Arboretum. You were a busy boy but as always she managed to capture your sweet spirit and smile that melts my heart!
So Michael Scott, what else are you up to at 22 months old???

You are 34 ½ inches tall and weigh 27 pounds
You wear a size 4 diaper and size 7 shoe

You wear a size 2T shirt and size 18 months or 2T pants. The 18 months fit better in the waist but are getting a little short!
You LOVE Chloe and Coco very much! You always want Chloe to sit with you. The other day Coco was wagging her tail and you grabbed her hips on either side and said, “Shake your booty Coco, shake your booty Coco”. It was so funny!

You and your big brother play together all the time. Your favorite games are chase and standing up on Mommy and Daddy’s bed and tackling each other. You both fall into the pillows, laughing.
You have your last two teeth trying to come in right now! Hopefully they will be in soon.

You love to watch Toy Story (1,2, or 3) and ask to watch Buzz when you wake up.
You also love Diego. It is one of your favorite books to read and you love the animals!

You still say, “Mama rock you” at night when you want me to rock you. Sometimes you say, “Daddy rock you” but you are definitely a Mama’s boy.

You love to sing “Love Me Do” with me when I rock you at night. You say, “Peeeeeaaaaaaaasssse Love Me Do”. I need to record it!

You also say “soooooooooo much”  to me because I always say “I love you soooooo much” when I give you a big hug.

You have to bring your blanket, Ella, and Froggie with you to the den in the morning when you wake up. We call you Linus in the mornings!
You have started to refer yourself in the third person, “Michael do it!”

You also use too correctly. If your brother gets a snack you might say, “I want fruit snacks too!”
You are the sweetest boy and are so thoughtful. Whenever you get something for yourself you always get one for Bubba too.

I can’t believe you are going to be two years old in two short months! Your birthday always sneaks up on me since it is right after the holidays. I have a birthday party I need to start planning. I love you sooooo much Michael! I can’t wait to see how you grow and change this next month!
 Love,
Mommy

Last Soccer Game

Saturday morning was James' last soccer game! His first soccer season has been so much fun to watch and he is really good! He is also slightly competitive (do you sense the sarcasm?) and still has a lot to learn about playing on a team. But, since all the kids on his team are 3-4 year olds, they are all learning about teamwork together. James scored 5 goals and socred the very last goal of the whole season so he was proud. We can't wait to sign him up for t-ball in the spring and he will definitely play soccer again next fall. The pictures below are from my phone. I have some great pictures on my nice camera that I will upload and post soon!

Love this one-all three look like they are putting out their arms like airplane wings!

21 months old

Dear Michael,

You are 21 months old! Your little personality is so funny and you have started to try to do everything your big brother does. You also repeat everything so we have to be careful what we say! The picture above was taken at the Dallas Zoo last weekend. We were on our way out and you stopped to play on a butterfly bench. You were playing peek-a-boo with me. Papa John and Sandra came to visit from Maryland for five days. You had so much fun! Simon and Ellie were here too and we all went to the Zoo. You love the animals and can tell us all the sounds the animlas make. The lion and giraffes were your favorites this trip.

So Michael Scott, what else are you up to at 21 months old???

You are 34 inches tall and weigh 27 pounds.

You wear a size 4 diaper and size 6 1/2 or 7 shoe.

You wear a size 2T shirt and 18 month or 2T pants.

You have big dimples and your smile melts my heart!

You are talking all the time in full sentences. It seemed like you went from short phases to full sentences overnight.

You still let me rock you at night before bed and you now ask me to rock you by saying, "Mama rock you?" I love it! It reminds me of when James would say "Hold you?" for "hold me". I think it is so sweet!

You LOVE to read books before bed. Your current favorirtes are No David!, Elmo One, Two, Zoo, and "Piggy Market" which is a book of short nursery rhymes that starts with "This Little Piggy Went to Market". You read along with me and even shake your finger at David and tell me the things he is doing wrong.

You love going to Bubba's soccer games but I think you run as much as the players! Your favorite thing is for us to chase you. You always look over your shoulder with that big dimpled grin just to make sure we are behind you.

You love to dance. Anytime you hear music, you always dance!

You are still in Ms. Deb's class at school at Brookhaven and have fun in her class. You also love staying home with Mommy and James on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

I love you sooooo much and can't wait to see all the things you do and say this month!

Love,
Mommy

Weekend Recap

Sean's dad (a.k.a. Papa John) and Sandra live in Annapolis, Maryland and came in town to visit. It was so wonderful having them here! I just wish they lived closer. They arrived on Thursday night and we went to Bandito's, one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants, for dinner. Even though it was 7:30 p.m. the boys were so good! James is always good when we go to restaurants but Michael is at an age where I usually end up wishing we had stayed home! I remember James acting the same way when he was the age Michael is now. We stopped eating out for a few months then decided to try again. I remember we went to Chili's for lunch and James sat at the table the entire time and was so well-behaved. It was a huge turning point. He was 2 1/2 and from then on we could take him to any restaurant and he was fine. Back to the visit.

On Friday James spent the day with Papa John and Sandra at their hotel while Sean went to work and I went to school. Michael went to Brookhaven for the day so James could have some one-on-one time. He had the best time! Sandra and James rode up and down the glass elevator, went swimming in the indoor pool, watched the airplanes land at Love Field from their hotel room window, and went shopping at Target! They had a busy day! Sean picked up Simon and Ellie in Waco that afternoon and we all came back to the house and had a wonderful dinner.

On Saturday morning we were up bright and early for James' 8:00 a.m. soccer game. It was here I finally started taking pictures to document the weekend!

I love watching James play soccer!

He took one down on the way to the goal but the little boy was just fine. The other team was very aggressive and notice it was 4 against 1!

After the game we went to brunch and then to Lowe's where all 4 kids got to build a "Goulbus". The Build and Grow program is great and it's free! Lowe's has this program once a month? where the kids come in and build something. James has built a little firetruck one other time. The kids got aprons, little hammers & nails, and a kit with a school bus and stickers to put together. We all had fun! Sandra took pictures with her phone (since I left mine in the car) while I helped James build his school bus.

Saturday afternoon we took naps and started to watch the TX/OU game. We eventually turned it off because poor TX did not do well! We grilled out hamburgers for dinner and the kids played outside. We had another fun night!

Sunday morning we all went to church then came home so the boys could nap. On Sunday afternoon we headed to the Zoo. We have a family pass and now that the weather is nice we will be going more often! The kids love it. The picture below is really sweet. Simon read to Michael before his nap time, without me asking. I walked into our room and that is what I found.

I think James is trying to pose with his crossed arms?

Now they both have their arms crossed, ha!

Love this one of Michael looking at the lion

James had fun feeding the goats

On our way walking to the exit of the Zoo, Michael found a butterfly bench he was fascinated with and played peek-a-book with me. I absolutely love these pictures!

Boo mama. LOVE this sweet face!

We were all tired after the Zoo but had fun. Sean took Simon and Ellie home to Waco and John & Sandra helped me get the boys settled down and ready for bed. We had a wonderful weekend! Papa John & Sandra stayed until lunch time this afternoon but this post is long enough so I will write a new post with pictures from Monday and Tuesday!

First Soccer Game

We had been talking about signing James up for soccer this fall and finally found a league on Wednesday and signed him up! Late registration is the entire month of September but we were just in time. We got an email from the coach on Thursday morning saying he knew it was short notice but James' team had practice on Thursday evening and the first game on Saturday! We went to Dick's Sporting Goods on Thursday afternoon and bought James cleats, shin guards, socks, and black shorts. He is on Team Juventus (named after an Italian team, they are teaching the kids that soccer is an international sport) in the Lake Highlands Youth Soccer Association. We went to the first practice and all of the 3-4 year old little boys running around trying to play were too cute.

The first game was today. Team Juventus won 9-1 and James scored 5 goals!!! They don't actually keep score but I did since James was making so many goals. Coach Chris said he is a natural and can tell he has the bug. Coach was right. James LOVED playing in the game today and is already asking when he gets to play again. We have a game almost every Saturday until the beginning of November. We love that James is learning about sports and being part of a team. We were proud parents today and know that this will be the first of many games for both of our boys! I had to chase Michael and get him off the field 4 times during the game. He also had to hold a ball while sitting in the chair cheering on his brother!
