James & Michael

These are my favorite pictures I took with my phone in the past couple of days. James loves bath time and I actually have some great pictures of him laughing that I took right after this one but they are blurry. I think the picture of Michael captures one of his many precious expressions. I love my boys!!!

Catching up & Buzz

I am catching up on posts from November & December-James' 18 month appointment, Thanksgiving pictures, Christmas pictures, and a few weekly prego pictures. I don't want the posts to be out of order. I actually started writing all of them back in November & December and have them all saved as drafts so they will be posted in November & December if you want to go back and read them and/or see the pictures. I also have Michael's one month letter to write, which I am planning on doing tomorrow. I don't have a computer at home during the day right now but will have one again starting next week so it has made it a little hard to keep up with the blog and pictures. Sean brings his laptop home at night but lately I have been too tired to do anything!

Sean was out of town on business for four days this past Thursday-Sunday and Sean's mom, Janie, came and stayed with me. I thought I would be able to catch up on my blog and Snapfish pictures but my boys kept us very busy!!!

Sean was in Orlando, Florida for Northwestern Mutual's annual meeting. James loves Mickey Mouse and the movies Cars & Toy Story right now-all Disney! Sean stayed with our friend Bodie who is in law school there and they went to Disney World. Sean came home with a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and a Lightning McQueen car for James, which he LOVES. But, what he loved the most was a picture Sean texted me his first day there of himself with Buzz Lightyear. James asked to see the picture all weekend and would say Daddy! Buzz! Daddy! Buzz!, and I would say yes, Daddy is visiting Buzz. So that's where James thought Sean was ALL weekend...visiting Buzz Lightyear. He got very excited talking about Daddy visiting Buzz, it was too cute. The picture is below.

One month old

Dear Michael,

You are one month old today! We have had a wonderful first month together and you are such a good baby. We came home from the hospital on Friday January 21st when you were 3 days old. The next morning your big brother woke up with the flu so we had to go to Grandma-ma and Papa's house in Fort Worth for four days. They loved having us and thought it was so special to spend time with you. Your big brother wasn't too sure about you when we came home but I can tell he already loves you so much. James asks to see you as soon as he wakes up in the morning and when he comes home from school. If he finds a paci he brings it to me and says Myul. He kisses you on the head good night and pats you on the head or shoulder if you are fussy. I want to enjoy every moment of you being a baby but I can't wait until you and your big brother can play together!

So Michael Scott, what are you up to at one month old?

You are 23 1/2 inches long and weigh a little over 9 lbs

You have SO much hair! That is what everyone comments on and thinks you are very cute

Your eyes were a dark blue grey when you were born but are now turning brown, just like your big brother's!

You wore size NB clothes the first two weeks and are now in size 0-3 months

You have two size NB diapers left and then will be in size 1

You are lifting up your head and turning it from side to side

You love being on your tummy

You like swinging in your swing and love white noise

You love to snuggle, which is Mommy's favorite thing to do with you

You like your paci/binky (Mommy & Daddy call it a binky but James calls it a paci)

You love to have your hands on your face

You do not like to be swaddled with your arms down. You have to have your elbows bent tucked close in to your chest with your little hands touching your chin.

You eat about every three hours except at night-you can now sleep 4-5 hours before you wake up hungry. This makes Mommy very happy because that means Mommy gets to sleep a little longer.

Words cannot express how much we love you and how excited we are that you are finally here! We can't wait to see how you grow and change in month two.

Love,
Mommy

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day! James made me a heart with his hand prints at school today and how cute are all of his Valentine's from his friends at his first Valentine's party at school? The pictures were taken with my iPhone since I now need a new camera or need to get mine repaired.

Saturday my sweet friends hosted a Sip & See for Michael. Unfortunately I dropped my camera with the lens open so it is now broken. I am hoping I bought the warranty at Best Buy but haven't had time to go there to find out! The good news is I dropped the camera at the end of the party so I do have some great pictures but I am not able to access them yet.

Sean and I were able to sneak away from the house for about an hour for dinner tonight! Mildred came over to watch James and we were going to take Michael with us but he was fast asleep so Millie convinced me to leave Michael & James both with her and enjoy a quick dinner out with my hubby for Valentine's Day. How could I say no when Michael looked so comfortable?

Millie is like family to us now and loves our boys! We are so blessed to have her in our lives!

3 1/2 weeks old

I am always amazed at how quickly babies' faces change. How precious is our little angel? I love him so much! Michael's hair is fairly calm in this picture. It is usually sticking up in the front too. "Look at that hair!" is definitely the comment I get the most when anyone sees him or a picture of him for the first time. I am curious to see if any of it falls out. James lost his hair around the sides and back so it looked like he had a toupee for a few months! I will have to scan and post some of my old baby pictures. I had dark crazy hair that was long in back and stuck up everywhere too!

Do you think we look alike?

Michael is two weeks old today so I looked back at pictures of James when he was two weeks old and realized how much they look alike! I can of course tell them apart in pictures but I think you can definitely see that they are related. We went to Michael's two week pediatrician appointment yesterday and below are his official stats:

Height: 22 inches (95th percentile)

Weight: 9 lbs (90th percentile)

Head circumference: 14 inches (50th percentile)

Dr. Smith said Michael is perfect, beautiful, and healthy! I knew he didn't have to get any shots this time but I was dreading the newborn screening where the nurse pricks his heel and squeezes out blood. I remember James cried so hard it made me cry! But, Michael slept through the whole thing. He cried for maybe 10 seconds when the nurse first pricked his heel then went back to sleep. Hopefully he will do that well with all of his shots! We go back on March 22nd for his 2 month appointment.
